Remote Learning help and support

This page will provide you with everything you need to know about our remote learning offer including support videos, tips and advice for students, parents and guardians.

Your one stop shop for remote learning

All learning activities will be available via the Remote Learning area of Firefly, and staff will use Microsoft Teams or pre-recorded videos to support students.

Please note that if a member of staff is ill, the work will be set by staff in the department and this will be available on our Firefly learning platform.

We recognise that some families may have to share laptops or computers at home due to other siblings wanting to access our remote learning at the same time. All remote learning can also be accessed from any tablet or mobile phone and we would recommend students to use their phone if this is an issue.

Although we have a limited amount of digital devices to support this issue, if this is having a detrimental effect on their learning please get in contact with us. We will review this on a case by case basis.

Self-isolation work

As we navigate through a new era of education, we would like to provide you with some key information and support regarding our remote learning provision for students who are self-isolating.

We are incredibly proud to be held-up as an example of excellence for our remote learning provision at Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) level. Therefore, all staff are continuing to ensure that we collectively provide an online learning experience that supplements our curriculum design for all subjects.

If you are self-isolating please click here to access the work alongside a support video within our remote learning platform firefly.
