This summer’s results highlights include:

• Three quarters of all students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths.
• Half of all students achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and maths.
• A quarter of all students achieved a grade 7 or above in both English and maths.
• Half of all students achieved at least one grade 7 or above.

Damian Leese, Headteacher, Chellaston Academy, said: “I am absolutely delighted for our students. We have high academic standards and these fantastic results reflect our students’ resilience, hard work and determination to reach their potential.

“It is particularly pleasing to see improvements in our overall headline measures, demonstrating the strength of teaching and learning across the academy and dedication of our staff and students.

“I would like to congratulate all our students on their achievements and thank our staff, families and wider school community for their continued support.”

Chellaston Academy, based on Swarkestone Road, Chellaston, Derby, is Ofsted graded ‘good’ and part of Tapestry Learning Partnership.

This year’s highest-performing students include:

• Isabella Patterson, Isaac Bell and Shutaro Funai, who each achieved an outstanding nine grade 9s and one 8
• Edward Jones, who achieved an exceptional eight grade 9s and two grade 8s
• Riley McTurk, who achieved seven grade 9s and one grade 8 and one grade 7
• Rebecca Steadman, who achieved five grade 9s and three grade 8s and one grade 7
• Amelia Hadley, who achieved six grade 9s and four grade 8s.
• Selina Cao, who achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 7.
• Bhavjot Dhamrait, who achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s.
• Belle Hilton, who achieved five grade 9s and four grade 8s

Special mention also goes to Selina Cao and Riley McTurk for their outstanding nationally recognised achievements.
Selina was recognised by Cambridge OCR as one of the top-performing students nationally in GCSE Art and Design: Fine Art.

Riley McTurk was recognised as one of the top performing students nationally in the Cambridge National in Engineering Manufacture qualification.

A significant number of students are going onto Chellaston Academy Sixth Form, which offers a wide range of traditional A Level subjects as well as vocational qualifications.
