Update to self-isolation guidance
Following the new Covid-19 Guidance for Children below, If your child has Covid-19 and is unwell in themselves such as a high temperature or feels unwell they must stay at home until they are feeling better. If your child however, is positive with Covid-19 and feels well in themselves they do not need to isolate and can return to school as normal.
What to do if your child has symptoms
Your child should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if they have symptoms of COVID-19 and they either:
- have a high temperature
- do not feel well enough to go to school, college or childcare, or do their normal activities
They can go back to school, college or childcare when they feel better or do not have a high temperature.
If your child has mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat or mild cough, and they feel well enough, they can go to school, college or childcare.
Full guidance from the NHS website can be found here.
If your child has a positive test result please still log this via the Gov website here and email email@example.com with your confirmation of the logged positive result.
