Dear Parents & Carers,
On the 13th and the 14th of December 2022, Chellaston Academy received our first Ofsted monitoring visit. The report is available to read on our Ofsted page, or from this direct link:
We are incredibly proud with the report and in particular the recognition for the rapid progress the academy has been making since the last inspection. Ofsted commented that ‘leaders have made progress to improve the school’ and in the feedback meeting Ofsted also said that they had no further recommendations.
The report is very robust and describes some of the changes that have been embedded since the last inspection. The report also includes some of the views of the school community and quotes like ‘I can come to work and enjoy my job again… my passion has returned’ and ‘it is such a relief that learning is less disrupted’ are very pleasing to read.
Although the report is very positive, I would like to reassure members of the school community that we are not complacent, and we are continuing to work hard to embed improvements. We look forward to welcoming Ofsted back into Chellaston Academy, hopefully, before Easter 2023.
I would also like to thank all members of the school community for their diligence, commitment, passion and support.
Kind regards
Phil Smith
Proud Executive Headteacher
