We consider it part of our responsibility to prepare students for the adult world where a 37‐40 hour working week is commonplace. Therefore, our expectation is that in Year 12, for every hour spent in lesson, an hour of independent work should be done out of lesson. When students move into Year 13, it should be almost 1.5 hours. This could be formal homework set by your teacher or additional work to support learning or revision.
Our Study Skills Programme, aims to give the students the skills to become highly effective independent learners, as well as focusing their minds on their own personal vision for success, systems and practices they can use, as well as discussing their own effort levels and attitudes towards any setbacks.
