A group of 25 year 8 and 9 students attended a residential trip at a Kingswood Centre recently.
They took part in many activities and we are extremely proud of their efforts and achievements across the weekend.
Chellaston Academy Sixth Form September 2017 – Applications still being taken
Applications are still being received for Chellaston Sixth Form Academy. We welcome students from all schools/colleges. In 2016, we had the best A level results in Derby City Schools and were the only school to have significant value added. We are confident that we are going to repeat this feat in 2017.
We pride ourselves on our results and the future pathways that our students go onto. Details are in our prospectus, which you can download here. More information and our Application Form are available on the Sixth Form pages.
We have a Bridging Day on Wednesday June 21st. If you apply before the 16th June, we should be able to get you booked onto this full day of lessons where you can immerse yourself into the Sixth Form.
Royal Albert Hall Dance Troupe
Recently, 60 girls travelled to London to perform at the Royal Albert Hall to an audience of over 4000 people.
The troupe performed with pride and energy as they danced with some of the top dance schools from all over the country.
Valentina recently took part in the Derbyshire County Track and Field Championships, where she won 2 gold medals for the 800m and 1500m in the U15s age group.
She got County standard for both events, which has now qualified her for intercounties for both events.

Message from the Headteacher
I feel privileged, having been appointed in September 2015, to be only the third Headteacher of this Academy since it opened in 1977. The ongoing continuity that this provides has given the Academy a distinctive and strong ethos in which we expect all students, regardless of ability, to maximise their progress which will lead to high levels of achievement.
We want everyone to be proud to be a part of our community. We want our students to feel safe and that they belong. This can be achieved through high expectations of both students and staff both in terms of professional standards and good behaviour which lead to students having the right to learn and staff having the right to teach.
