We have now taken our catering service in house with the assistance of Catering Management Consultants (CMC). This decision has allowed us to provide a catering service bespoke to our school. We have introduced new menus and food concepts in the dining room, including CMC’S own Tub Be Good To Me, a healthy, fast-food range for those on the go.
We hope the students are enjoying the new choices, and welcome any feedback via our Catering pages.
The PE Department will update this news article with the latest match reports from sporting fixtures.
Please check back regularly to read about our students' achievements.
Year 6 Open Evening
We would like to invite parents and students who are currently in Year 6 to our Open Evening on 27th September. This evening is for those wishing to apply for admission to Year 7 in September 2019.
The evening gives parents and prospective students the opportunity to hear about what our academy has to offer, to visit all our curriculum areas and meet teachers and current students.
We look forward to meeting you at our event this year and hope that you have an enjoyable and informative evening.
Rugby training has now started during lunch times. It doesn't matter if you haven't played Rugby before. All abilities are welcome for boys and girls. Students need to come down at the beginning of lunch to get changed in the school side changing rooms.
The days for each year group are:
Tuesday - Year 7
Wednesday - Year 8 / 9
Thursday - Year 10 / 11
We started off the new school year with a trip to watch Matilda the musical. The show was fantastic, as was the behaviour of our students.
Well done girls!

Values and Ethos - A message from the Headteacher
I feel privileged, having been appointed in September 2015, to be only the third Headteacher of this Academy since it opened in 1977. The ongoing continuity that this provides has given the Academy a distinctive and strong ethos in which we expect all students, regardless of ability, to maximise their progress which will lead to high levels of achievement.
We want everyone to be proud to be a part of our community. We want our students to feel safe and that they belong. This can be achieved through high expectations of both students and staff both in terms of professional standards and good behaviour which lead to students having the right to learn and staff having the right to teach.
