Chellaston Academy students are celebrating after receiving their academic and vocational results.

The vast majority of students have achieved the grades they need to progress to university degree courses, degree apprenticeships and other further education and training courses.

Chellaston Academy offers a wide range of A Levels with some young people also studying BTEC vocational diplomas and Cambridge Technical qualifications.

This year, the key highlights include the following:

  • One quarter of grades achieved are at A*- A.
  • Well over a half of the grades achieved are at A*- B.
  • The average grade across all A Level subjects is a grade B.
  • The average grade across all vocational subjects is a Distinction.

Phil Smith, Headteacher, Chellaston Academy, said: “We are delighted with the fantastic examination results achieved by our Year 13 students and exceptionally proud of their accomplishments.

“It is pleasing to see that their dedication and commitment to learning has paid off.  We are also delighted that these outcomes match last year’s strong results and continue to show what a great sixth form we have.”

He added: “Students leave Chellaston Academy ready for the next stages of their lives. This success is not possible without the dedication and support of every member of staff, and I would like to thank them all.

“The school culture of ‘inspiring each other to realise our potential through integrity, care and excellence’ is at the heart of everything we do.”

Some of the messages from our students today include students feeling ‘delighted’, ‘proud’ and ‘relieved’ with their results and sharing that they have enjoyed being in our sixth form due to the ‘support from teachers’, the ’in school opportunities’, the ‘fantastic atmosphere’ and ‘great teaching’.  Students are embarking on a range of courses including medicine, chemistry, zoology, mathematics, physics, biology, natural science, law, midwifery and many more across a range of universities and colleges.

Students who have achieved strong results include Anaiya Dhillon who achieved A*s in all of her subjects and Christian Mountain who achieved 3 A*s and an A grade.

Thomas Everest, Ziana Hayer, Millie Burns, Emma Lawson and Alice Venables all achieved 2 A*s within their results.
