Year 6 Open Evening
YEAR 6 OPEN EVENING AT CHELLASTON ACADEMY
Thursday 29th September 2022 From 5pm to 7pm
We are delighted to invite parents and pupils who are currently in Year 6 to our Open Evening on Thursday 29th September. This evening is for those wishing to apply for admission to Year 7 in September 2023.
The evening gives parents and prospective pupils the opportunity to hear about what our academy has to offer, to visit all our curriculum areas and meet teachers and current students.
Our Year 6 Open Evening is one of the busiest in our school calendar as we normally welcome more than 800 visitors to our site. In order to accommodate this number of people, our Headteacher and Senior Staff will be running three separate presentation sessions in the main hall at 5pm, 6pm and 6.30pm. For Health and Safety and comfort reasons, we cannot exceed the capacity of our main hall. We ask you, therefore, to book the number of seats you require for your chosen presentation using the correct link below:
Session 1 – 5pm
Session 2 – 6pm
Session 3 – 6:30pm
You will be asked to show this on entry to the hall.
There are 14 different curriculum areas open and we recommend allowing an hour to visit them. It will not be possible to do the tour of the school after the 6.30pm presentation. We are able to start tours on arrival from 5pm onwards. You may visit the school without attending the presentation if you wish. There will be tour guides on hand when you arrive to show you to all curriculum areas and to answer questions. Please note that we have a large school site and the classrooms are spread across seven separate buildings and across two floors.
Parking on the school site is very limited. We would encourage you, where possible, to walk, use public transport, car share or park off-site if you are attending this event. If you require assistance or disabled access, please contact the school before our event so that we can meet your needs.
