The year 7 girls participated in a tournament organised by the Derby County Community Trust held at Lees Brook School, there were 6 schools from around the city who attended.

We started well in the group games, beating the first two teams, 5-0 and 6-0 respectively, that put us through to play a semi-final. The team played incredible throughout this game however it ended in a dreaded penalty shootout. This was very nerve racking for all involved however they held their nerve and made it through to the final.

Once again in the final the girls used their skill, determination and hard work to win their final game 1-0. They were all a true credit to the Academy and demonstrated our three core values of; Integrity, Care and Excellence throughout the whole tournament.

Amelia ended up top scorer in the tournament with 9 goals and the whole team thoroughly deserved the win and were rightly pleased with their efforts for the night.
